HELLO AND WELCOME
This is a new space where I’ll be sharing real weddings, musings, recommendations, inspiration, and advice. We hope you enjoy it here and feel welcome. Before we dive in, I wanted to reflect on where we’ve come from, how far we’ve come, and where we’re headed—and share a few lessons I’ve learned along the way.
When I first started this journey 15 years ago, I never imagined it would lead here. What began as a side hustle, launched on a whim, has evolved into something much bigger than I could have imagined. Thinking back to those early days still makes me cringe a little. Those first years were full of learning, growing, and making plenty of mistakes along the way. There were many nights and weekends spent refining contracts, getting systems in place, and trying to figure out which end was up. I didn’t know anyone in the wedding industry, but I thought I knew a lot about representing talent. Thinking you know a lot about something—but not knowing what you don’t know—is a dangerous combo. It took many years before my instincts and experience in the representation world finally merged with a deeper understanding of the wedding world.
WHAT I’VE LEARNED
Relationships are everything. The photographers and filmmakers I work with aren’t just colleagues—they’re collaborators and friends. Some have been with me since year one, others joined along the way, but each brings a unique perspective, personality, and talent. While it’s been tempting at times to chase certain trends or artists I’ve been excited about, I’ve learned it’s far better to trust my gut and work with people I’m genuinely inspired by and who share a common set of core values. That’s what has allowed for longevity and sustained us through the tough times (hello, COVID).
The same goes for our wedding planner friends, whom I’ve learned to respect and appreciate beyond measure. When I first started out, I was skeptical—I thought they might “get in the way” between us and our couples. Ha. Words can’t describe the stupidity I feel when I think back on that one. Planners are everything.
THE EVOLUTION
I’ve witnessed the wedding industry transform dramatically over these 15 years. From the birth of social media to the rise (and decline) of print media, the landscape is almost unrecognizable from where it was when we first started. Couples today are more intentional with their choices, more diverse in their celebrations, and more focused on authentically representing who they are as individuals.
The photographers and filmmakers I represent have evolved too. They’ve developed their own styles and continue to push themselves creatively and as business owners. Watching their growth has been an absolute joy.
WHERE WE’RE HEADED
The wedding industry will continue to evolve, and we’ll evolve with it. But some things will never change—namely, the power of a beautifully captured moment, the importance of trust between artist and client, and the magic that happens when creative vision meets genuine emotion.
To the photographers and filmmakers who have trusted me with their businesses over these 15 years—thank you for letting me be part of your journey. To the couples whose love stories we’ve helped preserve—thank you for choosing our artists to document your most precious moments.
And to everyone who will be part of our story in the years ahead—I can’t wait to see what we create together. Here’s to the next chapter, and to all the beautiful stories yet to be told.
xoxo Lisa
