Dear daring and creative partners, we love you.

Recently, I came across a quote from the late Bill Cunningham that really struck me.  He said “A lot of people have taste but they don’t have the daring to be creative”. That rang so true for me in so many areas of life.  Whether it’s the every day choices you make in the kinds of friendships you pursue, the choices you make with your hair or clothing, where you decide to vacation, or the choices you make as a professional in the wedding industry-  there’s always an opportunity to not just pick the “lovely” and safe but to also to take risks and to express yourself to the fullest.  I thought about the people who I think have had the “daring” to be creative and the people who have really inspired us to be a fuller version of ourselves. I also thought about those who have supported us this past year (and decade) and wanted to put a few of their names and thoughts into words. Keep in mind there are SO many people that are not mentioned here, including all of my artists who inspire me every single day. There are so many people I appreciate, admire and love that I’m almost nervous to post this, lest someone think they were left off for a good reason. You were not!  Below represents just the very, very tip of the iceberg of appreciation. So here we go….

Jove Meyer for being one of our longest and most valued relationships in the industry. Your creativity and commitment to inclusivity is so important. We’re honored you trusted us to be the photography and videography partners at The Knot Gala this year. Mwah!

Alison Events for being one of our biggest supporters year after year. Your passion for beauty and creative energy is contagious and we always love being a part of whatever you’re dreaming up. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Alison & Bryan who are always the most thoughtful, professional and fun planners out there to work with.  You are leading the charge in client and vendor education and reshaping the culture of the luxury market.  We appreciate you so, so much.

Studio Mondine for being two of the most creative, forward-thinking, boss babes out there. May the wedding gods be with us and ensure many more collaborations in the future!

Alexandra Macon from Vogue and Over The Moon blog. Need I say more? Vogue and OTM have been such an important outlet for our work and your support for us has meant everything.

Molly Rosen Guy from Stone Fox Bride. You recently took a big hit with the NYT article that came out and I’m here to say, I think you are amazing and what you accomplished in influencing the wedding industry deserves a round of applause. Period.

Marcy Blum, your talk about “what makes you, you” at Engage was just what I needed to hear at just the right time. Thank you.

Now for some OG’s. The ones who helped me get The Wedding Artists Co. off the ground almost 10 (yes, 10!) years ago. This part sounds like some sort of “acceptance speech” but whatever. I love these people.

Jillian from 100 Layer Cake. I remember having lunch in your garden apartment in Brooklyn when Liam was less than a year old. Your energy has always been infectious for me and your support and partnership ideas have fueled me since day one. I’ll never be a able to properly thank you.

Josh Goleman who gave me the idea to start the agency in the first place and to my husband Gary Ashley, who helped support and push the idea through every step of the way.

Firefly Events who as one of our very first partners for “Collective Gatherings” helped get our name on the map. You two have no idea what you’ve meant to me!  Just love you guys.

THANK YOU all. xoxo Lisa
